Southern side of Peniche

We went back to Peniche because we only got to explore a tiny bit of it last time. We went to a more southern point and parked on a cliff. I didn’t even want the kids to get out of the car so being a brave husband I sent Lindsay to investigate the dangerous terrain. There are dozens of pillars of rocks that have a 100ft fall between them. She determined it was OK for the kids to get out if we walked along a trail south. We did and passed what looked like a bunker and it was actually a bathroom. We didn’t make it far before finding a very treacherous route down to a rocky beach. I went first with Max and then they followed. The best part was that there were no other people around. We ate our bread for lunch and let the kids climb on the rocks. I don’t know how but no one got hurt.

There are signs everywhere warning you that it is just generally not safe.

This did not seem interesting to anyone else, but I had never seen a bathroom where you walk into a bunker.

Penny was very happy to get to wear her heart sunglasses. There were so many rocks it was easy to find some comfy ones to eat lunch on.

I can not emphasize enough how many deep crevasses are hidden everywhere. The kids were not affected and loved stick fighting with the washed up bamboo.
