Walking Tour of Bruges and Ghent

We took a bus and walking tour through Bruges and Ghent. It was a very very rainy day. We had radio receivers with headphones plugged into them to listen to the guide. When we were walking around I noticed the guide had a bag full of maybe 40 AAA batteries and I thought that was weird. Turns out the batteries dies constantly and you have to go up to him and get new ones all the time.

The cities were very cool, but my favorite part was sitting in the warm bus next to a stranger. All bathrooms cost at least a Euro in each of the cities. The tour took about 7 hours and we learned a lot. Turns out they killed a lot of people in a lot of places. We did stop for a delicious meal. The restaurant had a thing where you create your own pasta. We let Max pick all of the things. He chose spaghetti, cheese sauce, and meatballs with parmesan cheese on top. It worked.

There were horse carriages everywhere. The kids kept trying to go up to them and we told them it was a very bad idea.

The kids did really well in the rain. Sometimes it feels like we are camping and unable to escape the elements.

The bus was warm and comfy. I was only mildly annoyed by the man next to me who was talking on speaker phone during the ride.

This is the dish Max decided on. We were so hungry it didn’t matter.
