Not everything is super fun and nice. Lindsay found a place with Dinosaur footprints in the rock about 20 minutes from us. We followed the GPS up a steep road and then the road turned to gravel. After that the road turned to a dirt road with deep ruts. We were driving a small car that was completely not equipped to handle this terrain. In addition we had to pay for any damage to the car when we returned it.
I tried to turn around when rocks blocked our path but the road was too narrow. My tires started spinning and I thought we would get stuck. Lindsay was out of the car and I decided to just backup the half mile to get to gravel. This half mile was hard to drive through forward. No backup camera so I had to do the turn around and look through the back window while driving a stick shift move. We survived.
Instead of footprints we went to a beach that was more like a harbor or lake. There were no waves at all and very few people. The kids had a great time and we stayed until someone started running a loud engine that made everyone leave the beach.
We returned the rental car today and thankfully they did not think we damaged it and we were not charged any fees.
I may have buried the lede. Yes I know the proper way to spell that dad. There was a zipline the kids used at a park before we got to the beach. There was also a see-saw. They didn’t want to leave.
It was about 60 degrees and the water was freezing but the kids went in. You can see there are almost no waves at all. The background is the inlet to the lagoon so the water is very calm.
Max tried some spear fishing to no avail.
Since Max did it Gwen had to try also. It was really nice since there were no waves and hardly any people, the children could wonder around without much supervision.
