The weather forecast was for clear skies and we walked to the beach. The sky was very gray and the sun was fuzzy. Turns out there was a giant sandstorm in Africa and that sand ended up here. The next morning the cars and streets were covered in sand. I didn’t know that was a thing that could happen.
We found a new park that is further south and has an amazing overlook of Nazaré. Walking up to it is a bit of a challenge but once we were there the kids were happy to run around. We have been focused on school since Lindsay’s parents visited. We won’t have a car until early April. The kids don’t seem to mind. The weather has been super weird. We woke up to hail twice this month. They were about the size of a pea but it was deafening outside and inside due to the tile roofs. The kids had never seen hail and were confused as to how ice was falling from the sky when it was 60 degrees outside.
The wind was about 25 mph when the hail fell. We got hit even under the overhang.
The new park we found. That haze is the sandstorm. I wonder if it was harmful to breath?
This was the aftermath of one of the sandstorm nights.
