We had a whole plan where Max and I were going to meet them at the airport and I would be able to drive the car back to Nazare. The only thing that has ever been ahead of schedule here in Portugal was the bus that left 10 minutes early causing Max and I to miss it. It worked out in the end. My father was able to navigate his way to Nazare. We took them to Tomar to visit the castle and get some more “Kiss Me Quicks”. It was hot inland but not nearly as bad as is has been.
The AirBNB they rented is a yellow house with a really well manicured lawn that we have passed many times over the past year. I never thought I would get to go inside and swim in the pool. We took them to the German baker at the Nazare market and he had a new treat for us to try. It was a rabbit pastry. Much to Lindsay’s dismay the girls loved it and ate most of it.
Pops and Gam arriving in Nazare in front of our building.
Gwen was very proud, she lost her first tooth. It was nice that Gam and Pop were here to congratulate her.
I do not condone this behavior and it was good that Lindsay was not there to witness it. Pops wanted a better view so he climbed the wall with quite a large drop off on the other side. We all survived so I guess it was ok.
After the castle we went down into the city. The kids tried to stay in the shade. You can see the castle in the background up on the hill.
