We took my parents to the ancient Roman ruins at Conimbriga. This time we went into the museum attached to the ruins. The kids really like Conimbriga because it is not very dangerous and they are allowed to roam around a lot more. This time I was prepared and brought enough 50 cent coins for both of the girls to activate the fountain at the end of the tour. The girls got some sketch books and have been filling them with colorful drawings.
No railings down the stairs but at least it is flat for the most part so Lindsay and I can relax and not worry about people falling off of walls.
Gwen standing at the fountain they can turn on with the coins.
The buildings were dismantled and the materials were used to make the wall on the left when the Roman empire was collapsing.
